To take care of hair one needs to know in what classification ones hair comes under because all the products available in the market are mostly for specific type of hair and not hair in general. According to volume hair are classified as:

1. Thin Hair or fine hair:
2. Medium or coarse hair.
3. Thick hair.

Generally when classified as volume people don’t tend to know what type of hair they have. This type of classification refers to the density of one hair. Fine hair tends to be shinier then medium or thick hair while coarse hair tends to be drier. Hair can also be classified as:

1. Dry hair.

Dry hair is due to inactive oil glands. It is also caused by other factors like over exposure to the sun.

2. Oily hair:

This is usually accompanied with oily skin. This is due to the over secretion of oil.

3. Normal Hair.

This is the most ideal hair. It is shining, well balanced and does not dry out.

So hair can be thin, medium and thick and dry, oily and normal. Furthermore hair can also be classified as.

1. Straight hair

2. Wavy hair

3. Curly hair

It is important that for the use of products such as shampoos, conditioners etc. the consumer should know the combination of his hair like their hair could be dry, wavy and coarse or can be curly, oily and thick. So to get optimal result out of these products one needs to identify the combination of their hair and then use the product specifically made to match their needs.
