Hairtastic - My Search For a H/T doc
Permalink Closed

It was about a year between when I started to look into HT and when I finally got it done with Dr. Bisanga. All other clinics I looked at rang alarm bells, the 1st suggested 700 strip for my front. At the time I was none the wiser as to how many I would need but what got me with that one was that they never gave me an answer regarding FUE so I left it. Another guy just sounded rather dodgy on the phone as if he was a builder saying 'Yeh we got all the different size FUE punches mate', I stepped away from that one!. I then came across what seemed a very promising clinic, their website was comprehensive, however when they asked for 100% payment BEFORE the procedure I told them to stuff it not to mention that they wouldnt accept credit cards, they would only accept cash or Bankers draft.

My search finally took me to Dr. Bizanga, I did my research. I even played the devils advocate by doing searches on google for things like 'Dr. Bizanga rip off' or 'Dr. Bizanga dodgy HT'. I couldnt find a thing. All I
did find from that was positive feedback about him. Being the sceptic I am, I wanted to have 100% confidence in the procedure so in spite of what I read I still gave it a couple of months to be convinced.
The actual procedure was a cakewalk. after I sat with Dr Bisanga and dicussed hair line design and my age, this was a pleasant surprise because he suggested a little less receded than I expected. It was established that about 2500 grafts would be the best option for me. We went through to the surgery room and began. Little to no pain throughout, just the anaesthetic, not the best nights sleep the first night, but I've had worse. The donor area became a little itchy but by the time I had the stitches out day 12 all was fine.

I would like to say a thanks to Phil who played a big part in my decision and has throughout and after always had my best interests in mind. One of the main things that won me over was that he strongly reccomended me NOT to have my vertex (crown) area done because it was not bald enough to justify it meaning that upon future baldness I would have a halo effect. The major difference between him and the rest was that the rest would give me whatever I want regardless of whats really best while knowing I wouldnt be any the wiser, in other words they just wanted the money. I originally wanted FUE but Strip harvests more from the donor area, so that for future procedures (If I choose to use them) there would be more yield when if I use FUE. Im sitting here now whith a grade 2 shave on my back and sides and the scar is not noticable!. Hair is starting to grow and I can’t wait for the next few months for more hair growth.
